The Flashman Collection

Internationally-acclaimed designer Mark Brazier-Jones has created a delicious collection of furniture for amorous adventurers.  His collection can be viewed here.  Flashman ”by day” shows pieces that blend right in at home and Flashman ”by night” (behind the lace curtain) shows “what the butler saw” behind closed doors.

Those familiar with the Flashman novels will know all about this self-described and unapologetic “cad” and his numerous amorous encounters.  Harry Paget Flashman constantly betrays acquaintances, runs from danger or hides cowering in fear, and yet he arrives at the end of each volume with medals, the praise of the mighty and the love of one or more beautiful and enthusiastic women.  More about Flashy here.

Asked about what inspired him to create some of the pieces in his collection, Mark says,
“The design of the Tally Ho was inspired by a fantasy of naughty parties in stately homes in horsey Hertfordshire, which also happens to be the county I live in. It is structured so as to be ideal for pony play. It’s for anyone who enjoys a good gallop!!  I would describe it as an equestrian curiosity.

The Detention Cabinet was the same sort of fantasy - relating to being naughty and how one could make it intriguing and fun to be spanked.  The Detention Cabinet is a slightly more serious piece in that there is a lot more structure to it and the legs are crafted from solid Aluminium.  It could be used as a storage cabinet by day and then for play at night.  Both the interior and exterior are padded for comfort.”

And Mark has shown that he and Europe have the right ideas when erotic fantasy and design meet.
